At Les Gentianes, there are two itineraries, both of which bring you to the Monts de Cion, above 3,000 m, in a fabulous alpine setting.
For this activity, you need a helmet, a harness and lanyards, all of which can be hired at the bottom station of the Mont-Fort cable car on the ground floor.
Both itineraries are equipped with a security system which allows you to stay attached at all times and helps keep you safe.
Opening dates
The via ferrata is open from the beginning of July until mid-September, depending on when the Mont-Fort sector is open.
For VIP Pass holders, please select only the activity and pick up your pass separatly either online or at one of our ticket offices.

During the summer season, VIP pass holders can travel free of charge to Les Ruinettes. To continue from there to La Chaux or the Mont-Fort, the following rates apply:

Via ferreta regulations
- Recommended height and age: 140 cm / 8 years old
- Weight: between 50 kg and 100 kg
- Make sure you have appropriate equipment and know how to use it properly:
- Helmet
- Harness with at least one carabiner to allow you to rest
- Y-lanyard with an energy absorber
- Gloves
- Mountain boots
- Rope for children
- Beginners and groups with children are strongly advised to use the services of a professional guide.
- All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
- Cancel the outing if the weather is uncertain.
- Make sure you follow the route in the right direction.
- Check that the lifts are operating before you set off.
- Always remain attached to the lifeline.
- No more than one person is allowed between each anchor point.
- Respect nature and the other participants.
If you hire equipment from the bottom station of the Mont-Fort cable car, we will require you to sign the following waiver.
- The participant confirms that he/she is at least 8 years old and/or at least 140 cm tall.
- The participant confirms to weigh between 50 kg and 100 kg.
- The participant confirms having received the following equipment:
- Mammut harness (size XS-M or M-XL)
- Mammut helmet (one size)
- Energy absorbing lanyard with AEROLINK connector
- The participant confirms that he/she has received clear and precise instructions on the proper use of the equipment (laminated explanatory leaflet).
- The participant confirms that he/she has been informed that the material received can only be used for the via ferrata des Gentianes (PRISME AEROLINK continuous lifeline) and that it must not be modified or used for any other purpose.
- The participant confirms that he/she has been informed that the use of the equipment is under his/her own responsibility and that a via ferrata presents inherent risks.
- It is recommended to wear a pair of leather finger gloves or work gloves (available at the restaurant).
