Lac des Vaux

This more demanding hike takes you through very varied landscapes. Starting from Fontanet (2'484 m), climb towards Les Attelas (2,703 m) and then head down towards the Lac des Vaux.

You may be familiar with this landscape in winter, but in the summer, it is transformed into an enchanting, untamed place, surrounded by fields of fluffy cottongrass. After a welcome break there, head for the Col des Mines (2,319 m) and then carry on via La Planie towards Les Ruinettes, where you can take the cable car down to Verbier.
