Cabane Mont-Fort

From Les Ruinettes, take the path which passes the Attelas chairlift (Blunt) towards the L’Inkontro restaurant and La Chaux. You’ll pass the “Bortabitche” Bikepark run and may even be lucky enough to see some bikers in action.

At the top, you can marvel at the view over Les Attelas and the ski run of the same name, before carrying on towards the Mont-Fort refuge (Cabane du Mont-Fort), which will already be in view. Make sure you stop there to enjoy some delicious food.

You can go back down to La Chaux and Les Ruinettes along the track or by taking the path through the meadows and along the "Raye des Verbiérins" stream, where you may meet some cows or marmots. To return to Les Ruinettes, follow the track or go along the Bisse du Levron.

Alternative
If you don't want to take the red-white path to the Mont-Fort hut, you can do the return trip along the track from Les Ruinettes via La Chaux, or you can shorten your walk by taking the La Chaux Express between Les Ruinettes and La Chaux.

The loop can also be done in the opposite direction.
