Verbier hosts the final of the IXS European Cup downhill mountain bike race. More than 300 riders from all over Europe are expected on this track known for its difficulty and technicality. A show not to be missed!
Verbier, now the Swiss reference in terms of mountain biking and one of the European meccas, is proud to once again organize international downhill competitions after the last Swiss Cup in Verbier in 2017.
From September 15th to 17th, the 4th stage and final of the IXS European Downhill Cup will take place at the Bikepark of Verbier. More than 300 participants, Swiss and foreign, will compete against each other on the "Tire's Fire" track between the Ruinettes and Verbier/Médran. This track is reputed to be one of the most demanding in Switzerland, both physically and technically, and will be an exciting spectacle for the public.
The start of the track is at 2'090 m. under the Ruinettes and the finish in Médran at 1'533 m., for a length of 2,2km. The fastest runners will probably take less than 4 minutes to reach the finish.
A lot of local athletes are expected on their land. From young up-and-coming athletes to former runners and world class athletes. The newly created Verbier Racing team sees this as a great opportunity to race in front of their home crowd.
