Welcome to my world!
Hello, I’m Meïno! I’m a lively cable car, full of enthusiasm. I love being surrounded by people who enjoy a good laugh, lots of fun and making the best of every moment!
Do you want to know more about me? I was born on 4 August 2024, at the top of the Mont-Fort (3,300 m), where the sky meets the mountains.
My cradle was a small cave tucked away under the Mont-Fort cable car, where the breeze from the summits rocked me gently. Every morning, I watched the sun rise over the mountains and that’s where I learned to love every corner of this enchanting place.
I grew up amongst families of ibex and chamois. We spent our days playing our favourite games – tag or hide-and -seek. To be honest, when it came to hide-and seek, I was better at finding my friends than hiding. Given my size, it was difficult to go unnoticed and find a suitable place to hide!
From a very early age, my parents introduced me to skiing. I started learning on the Esserts and Moulins slopes, alternating between the two. Even though I was born high up in the mountains, skiing at the Mont-Fort was always a thrill.
My name, Meïno, means “child” in the local dialect. It’s a cheeky little reference to my insatiable curiosity and my playfulness.
My aim in life is to help you discover all the most magical aspects of this ski area. Let me take you on a wonderful adventure.
My portrait
If I were to describe myself, so that you’d know me before meeting me, this is what I’d say:
- If I was a dish, I’d be a raclette, of course, as it’s my favourite meal.
- If I was a colour, I would be red, the Verbier 4Vallées colour.
- If I was a film, I’d be Ice Age, because Sid really makes me laugh!
- If I was an imaginary character, I’d be a snowman because I love making them and adding a carrot for the nose.
- If I was an emotion, I’d be joy. I love smiling, and being in a good mood makes me happy.
- If I was an activity, I’d be…Oh! That’s a hard one, because I love so many of them! In winter, it would be sledging, and in summer, cycling.
I can’t wait to show you everything about me. I love making new friends and having a great time doing lots of different activities in the mountains. My biggest dream is to become a mountain guide.
Through exploring my playground, I’m getting to know it inside out. Who knows – one day, when you and I have grown up, maybe we’ll meet at the top of the mountains.
My favourite places
I have secret places where I like to go, for example:
The duck pond at Le Hameau, above Verbier. I can feed the ducks dry bread and it’s great, because they all come towards me.
Another place I love in winter is the Moulins slope, because I make lots of friends while learning how to ski. Plus, there is Carnival in February!
Sometimes I go out for dinner with my parents to the Igloo, at Le Mont-Fort. We eat fondue and have a great time there! According to my parents, that’s where you can have a fondue at the highest altitude in Europe!
In the summer, I love hiking along the 3-D Parc. It's great fun because there are sculptures all along the way in surprising shapes! Guess what? There's even an elephant! Not a real one, but it's so realistic that it looks like it's going to give us a hug with its trunk.
Where to find me
From this winter, you’ll find me at my playground in Bruson, up above La Pasay. You can also find me in the fun zones like the Skicross at La Chaux, the Mini KL and the Funslope in La Tzoumaz. You’ll see, it’s brilliant for learning the basics of freestyling while having fun skiing.
I can already tell you that the family festival (Fête des Familles) in August will also be my birthday. Everyone is invited, so I hope you’ll be there too to party with me. The Verbier 4Vallées ski area is my home and I can’t wait to show you how much fun you can have here.
Whether it’s winter or summer, in the playgrounds, at events or at the starting points of really cool activities such as scooter outings, I’ll be there, ready to share my joy and energy with you.
Take home some great souvenirs
After your visit, pop into the Verbier Addict shop, at the Médran Café, and you’ll find plenty of treasures to take home as a wonderful souvenir of our time together.
