Téléverbier has won the 2026 Digitourism Award thanks to an innovative digital recruitment solution developed in collaboration with the Valais-based start-up HooRa. Based on social media, automation and artificial intelligence, this solution enabled the company to optimise the recruitment of seasonal staff in an environment characterised by a severe shortage of skilled workers. The prize was awarded during the Digitourism Days held in Champex-Lac.
The Digitourism Award has been presented annually since 2022. It recognises companies that use digitalisation in innovative ways to improve their services, organisation or profitability.
This year, three finalists were selected for their ability to integrate digital technologies into concrete projects. The jury ultimately decided to award Téléverbier for the transformation of its seasonal recruitment process.
Téléverbier SA operates the ski resort’s cable cars and a wide range of activities related to mountain tourism: catering, accommodation, technical maintenance, snowmaking, piste grooming, a ski school and a sports shop.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company faced significant recruitment challenges, particularly in the catering sector. Traditional methods were no longer sufficient to attract enough qualified applicants.
In collaboration with the Valais-based start-up HooRa, Téléverbier developed a digital solution based on targeted campaigns on Instagram and Facebook. After clicking on an advert, candidates are taken through a fully digital recruitment process. This is simple, quick and accessible via smartphone. In the first phase, neither a CV nor a cover letter is required.
Following an initial automated screening via a digital questionnaire, the selected candidates are invited to a telephone interview with an AI recruiter called ‘Alex’. The artificial intelligence then produces a transcript and an assessment of the interviews, although the final decision still rests with the HR teams. It is also important to note that a face-to-face interview with a real person is systematically conducted before any job offer is made.
