The project aims to create an effective link between the historic sectors of Verbier–Les Ruinettes and Savoleyres–La Tzoumaz, which have only been connected via the freeride Vallon d’Arbi route until now. The objective is to facilitate the better distribution of skiers across all our areas, while enabling them to keep their skis strapped to their feet.
and its progress
Since December 2025, the first phase of the project has been operational following the opening of the ‘Planards – Savoleyres’ section. The full ‘Esserts – Savoleyres’ section is scheduled to open in winter 2026
On this page, you can view the progress of the works in real time and follow the key stages of construction right up to the full opening of the link.
Piguet Galland line
With the Piguet Galland Line, Verbier 4Vallées enters a long-term collaboration with Banque Piguet Galland et Vous, founded on shared values of proximity, excellence and deep local connections. This partnership represents much more than just sponsorship. It epitomises a shared ambition to support the resort’s development, improve the visitor experience and strengthen ties between local stakeholders who bring the ski area to life in both summer and winter.
Station infrastructure
Work on the project is continuing apace, with the completion of several key stages, including the cabin depot and a large part of the station infrastructure. Despite a particularly tight schedule, environmental constraints relating to water protection, and high standards in terms of safety and energy efficiency, the teams are keeping up the pace. The next phases will focus in particular on drilling works, the Carrefour tunnel and the developments required for the future connection with Esserts station, with a view to commissioning on schedule.
Opening of the second section
At the mountain station, the silent, low-speed electric motor is currently being connected. The upper section will allow for repeated skiing , with chairlifts available for the 2025/2026 season and, in the future, gondola cabins between each chairlift, offering users the choice between sheltered comfort or open seating. Civil engineering work and piste development and maintenance continues in parallel.
The opening of the Télémixte’s second section between Les Planards and Savoleyres is drawing closer: technical tests are underway and the line’s recent rescue drill was a success.
If everything goes to plan, the lift will be able to open before Christmas.
Cable splicing
Of the 20 pylons, 17 were installed with the help of a Super Puma helicopter, the ideal solution for moving such large structures. Three pylons are still to be installed near the stations by a truck-mounted crane.
The cable has been spliced. This process involves connecting the two sections of cable to form a continuous loop by precisely braiding the different strands.
At the departure station, the soil nail wall and anchors have been completed. Masonry work is now beginning following the arrival of prefabricated elements, allowing construction to progress according to schedule, with completion planned for autumn 2026.
At the intermediate station, most of the civil engineering work has been completed. The platforms are being concreted with some work still to be done on skier access, as well as installing the equipment.
At the upper station, efforts are focused on the skier platform to compensate for the flat section that has been lost due to the building’s location.
Installing the pylons
In September, the project reached an important milestone: installing the pylons. The installation was carried out by Doppelmayr/Garaventa, the ski lift manufacturer, in collaboration with external specialist teams. The project required the use of a Super Puma helicopter, provided by SAF Hélicoptères, which can transport loads of up to 2,800 kilos to altitudes over 2,300 metres, making it possible to erect the pylons in difficult-to-reach areas.
The next construction phase will involve unrolling the cable for the second section, followed by the mechanical assembly at Station 3, splicing the cable and installing the seats. These operations precede the lift’s technical tests, before the second section opens to the public on 19 December.
May 2025
Work is progressing at a good pace along the entire route. At the Les Esserts lower station, excavations have progressed well and the first concrete foundations are being laid, with two separate access points planned for the future ski entrance. The amount of forest that has been cut down in preparation is indicative of the size of the future building, which will span several levels.
The first section, on steep terrain, has already seen the foundations for several pylons poured, with reinforced concrete structures ensuring their stability. The trench for the line has yet to be cleared.
In Les Planards, the intermediate station is taking shape: the foundations are emerging and the access road to Croix-de-Cœur has been moved to make space for the construction site. This will also be the site of the technical heart of the Télémixte lift.
For the second section, too, the foundations are advancing, though there are fewer strict requirements thanks to the more stable ground there.
Finally, in Savoleyres, the works are extensive: the arrival platform is undergoing a complete transformation. The existing wooden box will be replaced by a new platform suspended above the piste. There is still snow on the ground there, demonstrating the late arrival of spring.
