Verbier to host the iXS European Downhill Cup final

Date

Known as the Swiss gold standard for mountain biking, Verbier is proud to once again be organising international downhill competitions since hosting the Swiss Cup in 2017.

From 15 to 17 September 2023, the fourth and final stage of the iXS European Downhill Cup will be held at Verbier Bikepark. This special event brings the finest athletes to Verbier for a weekend of fierce competition in their bid to win the prestigious title of European Champion.

Over 300 competitors, from Switzerland and abroad, will go head-to-head in a race against the clock on the “Tire’s Fire” track. Renowned as one of the most demanding in Switzerland, both physically and technically, this track promises to put on a thrilling show and get the audience’s adrenaline pumping.

Starting at 2,090 metres in altitude at Les Ruinettes, riders will finish the 2.2km course in Médran, at an altitude of 1,533 metres. The fastest competitors are expected to cross the finish line in under four minutes.

Many local athletes will be on hand to defend their home turf. From up-and-coming talent to elite athletes on the world stage, no one wants to miss out. The brand-new Verbier Racing team can’t wait for this fantastic opportunity to race in front of their home crowd.
